Leaf amounts and indolebutyric acid on Laurus nobilis L. cuttings propagation

Four doses of indolebutyric acid (IBA) and three leaf amounts were tested in the propagation of laurel through semi-woody cuttings in experiment conducted in a misted greenhouse in the Departamento de Horticultura e Silvicultura, Faculdade de Agronomia, UFRGS. Treatments of the cuttings with zero, two or four leaves and treated with zero, 1,000, 2,000 or 4,000 mg L⁻¹ of IBA were arranged in completely ramdomized blocks with a factorial design 3x4. The number of dead and rooted cuttings was transformed to percentage. The number, length, and fresh weight of roots were recorded. The best response was obtained using semiwooded cuttings with four leaves and treated with 2,000 mg L⁻¹ of IBA.
