Quality of herbal drugs from the commerce

Commercial samples of Peumus boldus Molina, Chamomilla recutita L., Melissa sp., Cymbopogon citratus (D.C.) Stapf., Pimpinella anisum L. and Mentha sp. were tested for the presence of adulterants and chemical volatile ingrdients. Almost 60% of P. boldus samples, 75% of C. citratus, 71% of P. anisum and all samples of Melissa sp., C. recutita and Mentha contained contaminants or had lower content of volatile compounds.
