A field experiment was installed aiming to quantify the tannin yield m 2 accesses of B. myriocephala. The entirely randomized experimental design was used with subdivided plots being 2 accesses in the plots and 5 harvesting times in the subplots with 3 repetitions. The harvests were performed during the period from 117 to 229 days after transplanting (DAT) at 28-day intervals. It was verified that in all the harvest times the C access showed a tannin yield which was superior to the one in A access, at 1% probability. In the first harvest time (117 DAT) a tannin content of 3.07% ± 0 04 was obtained from A access, while 4.41% ± 0.04 was obtained from C access. In the last harvest time (229 DAT) a content of 0 26% ± 0 04 was obtained from A access and 6.67% ± 0.04 from C access. The maximum estimated value for tannin yield in C access, that is 11.17% of the dehydrated plant, was obtained at 203 DAT in flowering. Tho therapeutic potential related to tannin content healing and antiseptic, therefore depends on access (variety) and on the harvest time for obtaining the carqueja raw matter.
