Efeito do ácido giberélico, CCC e ethephon no conteúdo de biomassa e rendimento de óleo essencial em diferentes épocas de aplicação em Lippia alba (Mill.) N.E.Br. - Verbenaceae.

Our experiment aimed al studying the effects of some growth regulators on the production of essential oils and biomass by Lippia alba. The treatments used included GA3 (50 and 100 mg.L¹), Ethephon ( 100 and 200 mg.L¹) and CCC (1000 and 2000 mg.L¹). Regulator solutions were applied 30 days after seedlings were transplanted to field. Thirty days after the application, plants were first cut and then left to rest for another 30 days, after which regulators were applied for the second time. Thirty days after the second application, plants were once again cut. hour cuts were made during the year. The concentration of essential oil in the leaves and flowers was estimated by using a Clevenger apparatus with 200g of fresh matter for 3 hours. The treatment with CCC (2000 mg.L¹) resulted in the best essential oil yield in both Winter and Spring. However, yield variations were observed in all seasons. In Spring, the yield of essential oil decreased as compared to that observed during Fall, with all treatments but CCC (1000 mg.L¹). Whereas, in Summer , the yield of essential oil once more increased with all treatments. During this period, GA3 (50 mg. L¹) was the best treatment used.
